If you look through the past two iterations, the viewer is made to feel left out and not part of the story, thus isolating Elijah in his journey. From that perspective we only see his back without any eye contact, but as this final iteration of Elijah “going back” to music unfolds we are invited a bit closer. We see more of the nuance and emotion he experiences through visual metaphors
